Project Description:
Since
November 2000, The Capworks Group, in association
with PTW Architects / Health Science Planning Consultants,
has been leading the Area’s Project Director
Service in the preparation of an Asset Strategic Plan.
New
England Area Health Service, under CEO Stuart Schneider,
has adopted a farsighted approach to its
forward planning. Service Plans for all of the Area’s
31 facilities have been completed, providing a sound
base for the completion of the Asset Strategic Plan
that will enable accurate assessment of the existing
service/asset links at each site.
At the same time New England Area Health Service is
taking a leading role in the implementation of the
Health AMMS project, with data collection commenced
at a number of the sites and a rollout of the system
planned for completion by the end of 2003.
This data, matched with the Service Plan outcomes,
will enable informed decisions to be taken on the maintenance,
expansion, or contraction of built assets in an Area
wide service provision context.
Capworks
has also been involved in an assessment of the Area’s
capital works requirements over the same 10 year
period to enable judgements to be made
on the impacts of redevelopment on recurrent liabilities.
