Project Description
Concord Community Hostel is a 50 bed aged care facility providing low care and dementia care accommodation.
The extension of the hostel has provided an additional 12 beds to the existing 10 bed dementia unit and also includes provision of a diversional therapy area, consulting room for visiting GPs and Specialists, and a hairdressing salon for use by residents over the whole site.
The kitchen has been upgraded to cater for the increased numbers, and to act as a focus for activities and stimulation within the dementia unit.
Care has been taken to blend the new extension with the existing buildings, and to extend the landscaped street front to minimise the building’s impact on the residential environment.
Construction commenced in September 2002
