Description:
The various components of the new Lithgow Hospital and
Integrated Health Care Facilities comprise a 46 bed
public hospital and support services - some of these
such as day surgery and operating theatres are shared
with a 16 bed private hospital. A medical centre is
also incorporated in the design.
Co-located
on the same site is an aged care facility and community
health centre. There is also provision for future staff
accommodation.
The
new building comprises a single storey design, and includes
an energy efficient geothermal system for heating and
cooling.
The
facility has been in use since early 1999.
