The
redevelopment has increased the hospital from a 204
bed level 314 hospital to a 338 bed level 415 hospital.
The redevelopment included the construction of three
new buildings that were linked into the existing, major
refurbishment in the existing hospital and construction
of a new carpark. The work was performed under two separate
contracts, the Structure Package and the Managing Contractor.
The structure package included the construction of the
"skeleton" of two of the new buildings (ie
Ward Block & Clinical Services Block) and also the
main entry and part of the carpark. The Managing Contractor
included the construction of one building (ie Pharmacy,
Pathology and Admissions and the Hospital Street), the
fitout of the Ward Block and the Clinical Services Block,
major refurbishment work within the existing hospital
and the completion of the carpark.
