Description:
The redevelopment of St Vincent's Hospital is a complex
project aiming to significantly reduce recurrent cost
by consolidating accommodation on site in new buildings
complementing core services in the Aikenhead Building.
The
focus of the Hospital's service delivery will increasingly
become ambulatory, and the functional plan in the PDP
reflects this shift.
The
site of the new building is occupied requiring detailed
and complex decanting and services diversions. A number
of early works packages including refurbishments, a
carpark and landscaping contract are now complete.
Construction
of the main building commenced in May 2000 and the first
portion is scheduled for completion late 2001, with
overall completion in mid 2002.
