The
redevelopment of West Wyalong Hospital provides for
the replacement of the old dysfunctional hospital with
a new 22 bed acute hospital, including a new operating
theatre, birthing room, medical imaging room and emergency
department. Wards are grouped and face north controlling
solar gain.
The
new hospital is to be co-located with existing Aged
Care accommodation which will be extended to meet the
needs of the community.
The
project also involves the relocation and upgrading of
Community Health services in an historic building located
in West Wyalong's main street, providing more convenient
access for clients.
